William Shakespeare, the Bard, wrote many plays. King Lear is probably his most famous (perhaps second most, since Romeo and Juliet also has widespread and enduring popularity). A King Lear essay could be written from more than one angle, as can all the works of Shakespeare. Does the story, itself, lend well to an essay? Of course it does. It’s a tale of how easily royalty can make the same mistakes as poor folks (peasants), and how dealing with their mistakes are handled in unusual ways. The introduction to an essay should clearly state your angle.

When you research essay topics, you can find some interesting literature to write an essay on. Just about everyone has at least heard of The Catcher in the Rye, if not read the story. J.D. Salinger was the author and it was undoubtedly his most famous work. Oddly enough, the book didn’t get much attention when it was first published, in 1951. The story was initially intended for adults, but is now very popular with younger folks, as well. It hardly seems that older people would find much enthusiasm in a story about an unhappy and confused young man. Perhaps Mr. Salinger chose the wrong audience to begin with… The Catcher in the Rye essay might reflect the content of the story as compared to the original target audience. A deep, analytical essay can prove to be rewarding to write. It is considered by some experts to be among the best 100 novels of the 20th century. With sales still around 250,000 per year, it is one of the most widely read novels of all time.

“I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows…” is the beginning of a beautiful song called “I Believe”. It’s not just a song, it’s an essay in rhyme, set to music about the author’s belief system. If you’re writing and I Believe Essay, that’s basically what you’ll need to do… without the rhyme and music, of course. Some might have to still research essay topics if they do not have a strong belief system.

Before writing a competent essay on the subject of slavery, it’s best to understand exactly what slavery is. To many people it is simply a cut and dried issue of white people owning black people at the beginning of the Untied States history. To write a slavery essay, using only that tiny crumb of history would be like using a recipe with only one ingredient when it called for many. It is vitally import to research essay topics and compile a correct list of information.
