Most of us know that the way to write an essay in the most basic format is to break it up into parts. The first part is the introduction to the essay, the next is the main body part and the final part is the conclusion. This is the basic essay format; however your essay length will depend on what your topic is and how many words you are supposed to write.

Your essay introduction will cover the major aspects of the essay, and your chance to make an impact on the reader begins with the introduction. In this paragraph, outline the subject of the essay, and describe the structure of the essay in brief. For instance, if your essay is about a historical event, you can mention how you divided your essay to cover all aspects of the historical event. Also, ensure that you state in the introduction what you hope to achieve at the end of the essay.

The body of the essay will cover the major portion of your writing. This can go on to two, three or as many paragraphs as your word limit allows. In the body, elaborate on what you mentioned in the introduction, give supporting evidence, facts and figures. If you have multiple instances or features to discuss and many examples to support them with, make sure that you divide each feature into a separate paragraph and discuss it at length. This will also assist in guaranteeing that the essay format is following the right and prescribed guidelines.

Your conclusion should reinstate your thesis statement that was outlined in the introduction and should be a summary of what you wanted to speak about and what inference you drew from your analysis. Try to restrict your conclusion to a few sentences because you’ve already discussed enough in your other paragraphs. After all, you don’t want your reader getting bored with your conclusion after enjoying the whole essay!

While the above is the basic essay format, when we come to formatting styles for academic writing, APA style of writing and MLA style of writing are the most commonly followed and adhered to styles. Harvard style of writing is also a popular style. All these styles differ in the styling of titles and headers, paper and font sizes, margins, page numbers, space allocation etc. In the Harvard style, the author’s name, the year, place and title of publication are required to be included. In the APA style, double spacing with a one inch margin is used and in the MLA essay format, the last name of the writer along with the page number makes up the heading.

Whatever be the essay format, remember that the most important thing is the content of your essay. However, following the right format is also important and having both, that is the right format and useful content will ensure that your essay is well written.

Let’s assume that you’ve completed all the mandatory admission tests and identified the colleges you want to apply to. There is now one more important aspect that you need to focus upon. This aspect has the power to sometimes turn the admission decision in your favor – that of writing an effective essay samples on our website.

Topic: Surprising though it may seem, choosing the right topic for your college essay is actually a critical component of your application. Choosing controversial, sensitive, religious and very personal topics may seem like good options, but if you have very strong opinions and fervent views around these areas, you may unintentionally be very assertive and seem narrow minded. For instance, choosing to write about your romantic escapades may seem like a passionate thing for you, but may not exactly entertain or impress the admission officers.

Title: Make it crisp and curious. Don’t worry about adding excessive words, flowery language and unnecessary punctuation marks. A broad title like ‘What I did in my childhood’ is less likely to draw the attention of the reader than a smart and crisp one like ‘Childhood – An Adult’s perspective.’

Content: Undoubtedly, your college essay needs to be absolutely free of grammatical and punctuation errors. What is equally, if not more significant, is the tone, body and intent of your essay. Give special emphasis and attention to these questions:

How is your tone? Beware of getting carried away when you talk of your achievements. Try to have the right mix of accomplishment, confidence and humility without seeming egotistic.

Is your college essay loaded with grave and solemn words? Adding a dash of humor in the form of a subtle joke, a simple simile or a clever alliteration will certainly do the trick and lighten up your essay.

What are you talking about? Is the content of your essay in sync with your title and with what you initially wanted to say? Keep looking back at the title to remind yourself about what you initially planned to elaborate on.

How long is your essay? Remember, the admission officers are evaluating thousands of essays and don’t have time for essays beyond the prescribed word limit. Constantly remind yourself of the word limit. This becomes very important for you because later, while writing your research paper or term paper, there will be many occasions when you have to summarize an entire module or topic in a very few sentences.

Finally, once your essay is complete, run a thorough check for spelling and grammatical errors. It would do you no good at all if your essay was perfect in content but had a dozen spelling errors! Keep in mind that even if you’ve not done great in the other tests, you still have a chance for admission if you write your college essay in the right format.

As children, we’ve all heard stories. Do you remember how avidly you listened, sometimes with your mouth open, when someone was narrating a story? You were eager to know what happened next and what the conclusion was. Well, a narrative essay is no different. Ideally, it should just be as gripping as a story and should make the reader want to read it right until the end.

The narrative essay, as the name itself indicates is a narration of an event or an occurrence that happened to you the writer, or to someone else. It can be based on your experiences or on the experiences of a friend, colleague or someone you know. Often, students are worried about the challenges involved in writing this essay because it means that your narration should be so spellbinding that the evaluator’s interest is held right until the end. Another common reason for apprehension among students is the message that they need to communicate towards the end, or the conclusion of the essay. If you are worried about this, then you should certainly check out some essay samples, so that you’re prepared in advance. You will also be able to avail essay writing help from our website. Common topics for a narrative essay would be a major success or failure in life and how you or someone else went about facing it, a childhood event that had an impact for life, an incident that caused a major transformation in your attitude, or an occurrence that helped you realize someone’s worth, etc.

While writing a narrative essay, keep in mind that you can use tools such as a flashback to make the narration more engrossing. Usually, it is written chronologically, but if you think your essay needs a different style and not a flashback or a transition, that is perfectly fine too. Try to recollect the experience as much as you can and spend some time drafting the memories to first create an outline of the narrative. Then, elaborate on your outline. Remember that even the most trivial and unimportant fact can be of interest to the reader and may actually have a role in keeping up the reader’s attention. Because the incident happened to you or to someone you know, you may want to exclude certain details thinking that they are not so significant. But, bear in mind that your reader does not have the context you have and this may cause confusion. Therefore, try to include as many details as possible. However, there is a delicate balance between including superfluous details and relevant ones. Be careful not to overdo it so much that the focus of the essay is diverted!

Strong descriptive words and phrases are of great importance in a narrative essay. Also, because of the story telling style of the essay, the characterization, plot and climax hold a lot of significance. If you’ve been training on research paper writing or term paper writing, you may need to practice writing the narrative style more often because all these require different approaches.

Persuasive writing is also called as argumentative writing and it tries to persuade the readers to agree strongly to one side of an issue or idea. This type of essay combines the usage of strong logic and reasoning with facts in support of the idea so that it does not totally sound like an argument. A persuasive essay, at the end, is able to convince its reader to your way of thinking.

Writing a persuasive essay is not easy, so it is better to plan it thoroughly. The essay should contain an introduction, main body paragraphs, the opposite point of view and a closing paragraph. Introduction should give some background information on the topic in such a way that the reader becomes interested in your essay and it should also clearly present your point of view. All body paragraphs should elaborate on your idea with strong supporting evidence. The paragraph with the opposite view point should also be elaborate and accurate and should leave no point for discussion. It should clearly show that you understand both the pros and the cons of the topic. Conclusion should relate to the main idea and cleverly summarize the whole argument. Throughout the essay, a flow should be maintained from one paragraph to another.

While preparing the essay, keep on thinking about the possible questions related to your topic that one might ask. This will help in focusing on the different aspects of the topic. The following should be kept in mind while writing this essay-

•	Know the idea behind the essay and choose your side of it. The topic and your thinking towards it should be very clear and you should be able to express convincingly why took that particular side.
•	Know your audience and study them keenly. Know beforehand whether your audience agrees with your side, disagrees with it or is neutral towards the topic.
•	Read extensively about the topic and gather as much data as possible because it is important to have thorough knowledge on the topic.
•	Persuasive essays are generally based on some facts, so use statistical figures and other data in support of your argument. Using examples and quotes from experts who support the idea will help cement your point.
•	An argumentative essay always has two sides and in the essay the other side’s point of view should also be presented. Elaborate on the other side and then use logic and reason to explain why your side is more legitimate then the other side.
•	Check your essay for grammatical error or spelling mistakes.

After completing the essay, read it to see if it makes sense and will your reader’s be convinced. The facts presented in the essay should be genuine and should lead to conclusions and if at some point it deviates to some other important matter, it should lead back to your idea. In entirety, a persuasive essay should be able to captivate the reader’s attention so that they keep on thinking about it even after they have stopped reading it.

The most difficult part in writing a 250 word essay is to remain restricted to the word limit! After all, it is not easy to say what you want convincingly and compellingly, when you have restrictions of time or word limit. However, with some preparation, even this can be accomplished. Let’s look at some best practices around writing this essay.

First, bear in mind that this is going to be a short essay and your sentences should be simple and to the point. This is important because there is every chance of your getting carried away with a single thought and not realizing that you are almost at the end of the word limit without proving your point. To avoid this, choose a topic that you’re comfortable with and that you can write effortlessly about. Remember, if it is a 250 word essay, you will also be given just about enough time to write only that much and will have to plan your time too. Therefore, if you need to write quickly and to-the-point, crisp sentences, you should first choose a topic that you’re comfortable with. Pick a topic that is familiar and that you can write about easily. Plan an initial framework in your mind and begin with a short thesis statement in your introduction. Your 250 word essaywill follow the usual structure of an introduction, body and conclusion. However, due to the word limit, every paragraph needs to be concise and brief. Therefore, your thesis statement also needs to be short and should capture the essence of the essay in a few words.

The body part of your essay should elaborate on your thesis statement, but again using direct, short and crisp language. Complex sentences and elaborate language are best avoided because they may need additional explanations. Support your topics with examples. Again giving just one or two examples will suffice because you do not have the luxury of accommodating many examples since you have the word limit factor. For instance, let’s assume that you were writing an essay about the need for conservation of paper. In your example to prove your point, you can explain about how many corporate and business houses are turning green and avoiding printing of paper by including the line ‘Save paper. Print only if necessary’ in every official email. This example is relevant, crisp and very apt. Therefore, other examples are redundant. However, if you think you did not prove your point with one example, you may write another one, but again remember to be very conscious of the words you’re utilizing because you still have the conclusion to write.

Coming to the conclusion, like most essays, this should be a concluding statement summarizing your introduction and body in a brief manner. Close your essay with a short outline of the most important takeaways. Again, constantly remind yourself of the word limit. This becomes very important for you because later, while writing your research paper or term paper, there will be many occasions when you have to summarize an entire module or topic in a very few sentences. So, writing a 250 word essay will set the ground for you! You will also find essay samples and dissertation writing help on our website.

The name argumentative essay itself indicates that this kind of an essay presents an argument. The goal of any argument is to convince the listener or the reader to accept your point of view. This is done by presenting facts, figures, statistics or proof to establish your opinion. Similarly, in an argumentative essay, we need to present particulars and details that support our point of view.

Just like any other form of essay writing, this kind of an essay has the structure of an introduction, body and conclusion. Begin with a thesis statement explaining the topics of argument in the essay and a brief summary of your logic behind supporting one part of the controversial topic.

For instance, you could be writing an essay supporting the science of astrology and arguing against the belief that it is superstition; then your thesis statement could be ‘Astrology as a science has existed since time immemorial, and hundreds of research papers over the decades have proven times and again that there is rationale behind astrology. It is not merely superstitious belief, but is a science that studies the movements of planets and their positions. Let’s look at these facts in more detail.’

Now, move on to the body of the essay to elaborate on your argument. Present specific information related to your statement and why you think that one part of the argument is stronger than the other. Describe the pros and cons of both sides of the argument and add solid facts to prove your point. Remember, in an argumentative essay, there is no scope for emotional thinking or language. Anticipate questions and present the answers much in advance. Back up your statements with substantial evidence and logical reasoning. Provide reasonable comparisons between the two parts of the argument and state the reasons of one point being stronger than the other with examples, data and information.

Finally, by the time you reach your concluding paragraph of the essay, the reader should have been able to form a fairly good idea of which side of the argument you are on. Remember that in future, when you write huge dissertations or term papers, your compelling and persuasive writing skills are going to come in very handy. Writing an argumentative essay could therefore be a first step for you in that direction too. Practice and develop your writing by choosing different topics. You will find many essays /samples on our website.

The most important thing to bear in mind is that you need to do enough research and gather ample evidence to support your argument. You can even go a step further and cite the sources from where you gathered this data. Think of it like an argument between two people. The person who has the maximum number of facts and figures to support his point of view gets the most number of votes and ultimately wins the argument. Unlike other essays, an argumentative essay needs to be packed with information and statistics and will not win the hearts or attention of the reader if it is crammed with flowery language without substance.

Just like other essays, an analytical essay follows the structure of an introduction, body and conclusion. However, what is different in this type of essay is the specialty of the essay to help the reader gain a better systematic and logical interpretation of the topic that is being discussed.

Any topic can be the point of discussion in this kind of an essay. However, the key here is analysis, which is best done by breaking down the topic into its various components and examining each thoroughly. For instance, if the topic of discussion is a festival, you can break down the essay by examining the history and origin of the festival, what are the festivities involved, what kinds of changes have come in the celebration of the festival over years, and so on. In conclusion, you can talk about the effects of the festival in today’s world, its contribution and positive effects on people and the joys of celebrating it.

At times, an analytical essay can also be a comparison between two objects. If your goal of the essay is to prove that one object is better than the other in terms of features or characteristics, be sure to substantiate your point with enough facts and statistics.

Any activity becomes better with practice, and with writing too, improvement and perfection can be achieved with practice. So, get used to writing them by picking up any topic and elaborating on it by writing it in the form of an analytical essay. Who knows, this may be the basis for writing your term paper or /dissertation too? Find /samples of analytical essays on our website.

Begin by writing down all the information that you can gather about the topic. Do as much research as possible. Remember, that when you write your research paper, this information gathering will be of immense use to you. Write down as many points as you can. Then start sorting them according to the origin, development, features, characteristics, uniqueness and impact of the subject or topic. Develop your thesis statement. The thesis statement, in a single sentence should convey the main idea, motive and focus of your analytical essay. The thesis statement should be in the introductory paragraph of the essay and should be gripping enough to make the reader want to read the rest of the essay.

Moving on to the main paragraphs of the essay or the body of the essay, make sure that you have enough facts and information to cover all the aspects related to the analysis. Your thesis statement should be ably supported in these paragraphs with facts, figures, data and lots of information. Each paragraph of the body should include topic statements that elaborate on the subject and are in connection with the thesis statement. Finally, the conclusion of your analytical essay should reiterate what’s spoken about in the thesis statement and should leave the reader with a clear and comprehensible picture of the goal of the essay. Summarize what you intended to achieve and what you wanted to say in the form of two-three clear sentences in the concluding paragraph. Ensure that you leave the reader with a clear frame of mind and do not confuse him by providing an unfinished or incomplete thought that makes him wonder what the intention of your essay was.

Almost the first thought that comes to every students mind is an alarming, ‘oh, how many pages long is this essay going to be?’ It’s surprising to note that most students are more concerned about the length of the essay than about the quality, because writing such a long essay can be a daunting task. Let’s go over some details around how to write an effective 1000 word essay.

Stick to the point: First, remember that any essay, whether short or long, should have a purpose and should revolve around a central theme. Every paragraph in that essay should be a step towards achieving that purpose. Especially, when writing a long essay, it is very easy to sidetrack from the main point and start discussing something irrelevant. Be mindful of the fact that your skill will be assessed by how aptly you capture the reader’s attention even in an essay of 1000 words.

Length of paragraphs: There is no hard and fast rule around either the length or the number of paragraphs in a long essay. However, remember that long-winded, wordy paragraphs usually make difficult reading and may also run the risk of the reader losing interest in the topic. Therefore, it’s best to keep your paragraphs short and crisp. You can have as many as even 8-9 paragraphs in a long essay.

Length of essay: Obviously since it is an essay of 1000 words, you should stick to the word limit. Keep in mind that your examiner is already reading dozens of similar essays, probably many with all kinds of grammatical and punctuation errors. Therefore, it may not be right to expect a lot of patience from him! To the question that is uppermost on most students’ minds, about the number of pages that the essay will utilize, the answer is, it depends on certain factors. Assuming that you are typing out the essay, factors such as your word spacing, your font size, paragraph spacing and margins will determine how many pages your essay will eventually turn out to be. Generally, using a 12 point size Times New Roman font with double spacing and one inch margins can make your 1000 word essay take 3-4 pages.

Practice makes perfect: Nothing can help you more than a little practice. After all, if you are aware that your language and writing skills are going to be tested by way of your essay, wouldn’t you be better off with a little preparation and research? Try writing essays on a few common topics and then move on to more serious topics. You can also look for sample essays to get a feel of how a long essay should be written.

Keep in mind that your essay should be absolutely original. Remember that this may be one of your first steps in writing your term paper, research paper or your dissertation too. Lecturers have their own methods of finding out if a particular piece of writing is copied, and if you fall into this trap, it can lead to serious consequences. Treading on the illegal path just for writing a 1000 word essay is not just discouraged, but also severely dealt with.

Since, analysis of a subject itself is a good long process and to do it critically, you need your extra senses to be with you, all the time. Critical analysis essay is a pure summarized essay, written to reflect critical suggestions and arguments on a subject. Now, this subject can be a piece of literature, a personality or an action, a technology or a technological gadget, a research paper, etc. In this article, you will be explained about how to create a normalized effect in your critical analysis and how you should put in words – your critical suggestions.

To write such an essay, you need some what more than complete study of your subject. That means you need to study every aspect of the subject and need to create a summary of what you studied. As criticism involves judgment of appropriateness, so you should also know the loop holes of your subject. Task of a critic is to speak truth, and that is what you have to do, but effectively. Moreover, your critical analysis essay should always be unique. Try to analyze the idea, structure and logic of your subject and make a clear-cut statement of what should be added or taken out from the subject, in order to make it perfect. After you have written your essay, it’s better to have it proofread by some one professional. There is an online professional proofreading service available, which can help you out in this regard. Moreover, a professional essay editing service can also be considered for complete satisfaction with the content of your essay.

As an academic requirement, students are mostly asked to critically analyze other’s work or research. And if you are a student, you should be familiar with the types of critical analyses used:

• Constructive Criticism – A delicate analysis appreciating the researcher with mild constructive suggestions included.

• Hypercriticism – A pro-active criticism. Getting into small particulars and persuasively trying to find flaws and mistakes, which in some cases is considered pointless.

On the other hand, if you are asked to criticize your own work or research, you should be familiar with the terminology of self criticism. Writing a critical analysis essay of your own work can be little difficult thing, but it’s a good and constructive practice and helps you to explore and improve your self. Additionally, if you want, you can also buy essays, custom-written critical analysis essays written by professionals.

Always remember that your critical analysis’s ultimate goal should be the clarification of the subject, from a new dimension or side. So, never try to include personal comments or suggestions, as they will be considered biased. It can be said in a more formal way that critical analysis of a subject leads a researcher to the true and real aspect of the subject.

There are many formats in which you can write such an essay. Key point is to maintain the worth of your pen by writing it as professionally as you could. Moreover, an evaluating critical analysis essay is appreciated more by the readers and due to its validity; people make it a reference point for their research. For further help on writing essays and evaluating them, you can consider an excellent online writing service, which can help you in the process of writing, in a professional way.

Writing a scholarship essay or article requires more than just a head-body-conclusion formatting; it requires persuasiveness, attraction and lingual harmony with in the composition and flow of an essay. It requires grammatical excellence, content perfection and a clear unambiguous message reflecting through out its material. All because, it can give your academic career and research work a boost and ultimately, can provide you an opportunity to excel in your studies. For your convenience, you can also buy essays – custom written scholarship essays, on any topic of your demand.

In the following lines, you will be briefed about how to write a successful scholarship article or essay:

Topic Selection

This is one of the most important steps in writing any form of essay. Your topic decides your results. There is a clear distinction between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ topics i.e. interesting and boring topics, respectively. Try to select and modify a good topic and determine the objective of your content before writing it. Always remember, if you pose a thesis statement in your topic and prove it using logical arguments, your scholarship essay is considered an intellectual piece of writing. We have one good essay online, which gives some tips on topic formulation – do read it.

Persuasiveness

Be persuasive throughout your content. The force that you exert through the reasonability of your content is proportional to your success. Persuading and superimposing are two different things; try to find basic difference between them before writing.

Research

Research is an obligatory part as it validates the reason of your essay. Give a good amount of time (4-7 days) to the research work and try to be in all the dimensions of your domain by studying variety of topics related to it. Richness of your material depends upon how deeply you deal with the subject. Researching not only provides you knowledge of the subject but also makes your essay content more revealing and bold.

Citation of Sources

The practice of proper and accurate citation (of all the relevant sources considered during the research period) is regarded as a professional principle of writing. More credible sources you provide, more genuine your scholarship essay becomes.

Review

On a micro level, review each and every word after writing it or putting it in a sentence. On macro level, review the flow of your essay and try to put a linear beauty from beginning to the end. Moreover, it is very important to comply with the rules, exactly i.e. a 2000 words essay does not mean a 1999 words or 2200 words essay. For additional review, ask someone to help you find logical, grammatical, and structural loopholes in your essay. When you are done with writing your essay, take it to a friend and get some comments on it. Furthermore, read it loudly like a speech so that any flaw in its structure can be detected. You can also let your essay reviewed by professional proofreading services available online. In short, do what best you can to polish your essay before submission, as it could provide you a chance to enjoy a promising academic future.

A perfectly composed and rich scholarship essay can impress your teacher (or checker) and it is a legitimate way in which you can persuade him or her to let you attain the scholarship.By following the above defined basic rules, you can create excellent scholarship essays. However, if you find difficulty in writing one; you can consider an excellent online writing service, which can assist you in writing an outstanding essay.
